Welcome to Hemophilia Treatment Center in Malmö! UMAS HEMOPHILIA DATABASE 4.1 System description The "UMAS Hemophilia DB" is a system developed by the responsible nurse at Hemophilia Treatment Center in Malmö, and Square Moon Industries. The main purpose is to facilitate daily routine work for the hemophilia nurse. It is used for recording patient data, prophylactic treatment, bleedings, surgery etc and gives the opportunity to get statistics for research and follow-up. The SF-36 Health Survey is also included.  Technically speaking The "UMAS Hemophilia DB" system is an application developed and run in a FileMaker environment. FileMaker products are developed by FileMaker Inc <www.filemaker.com>. All users of the system need to have FileMaker Pro 8/9 or later installed on their workstations to access the system. Furthermore FileMaker Server or FileMaker Server Advanced is recommended to host the system. The licenses for FileMaker Pro/Server are not to be mistaken for the licenses of the Hemophilia-system itself. FileMaker Server: http://www.filemaker.com/products/fms/tech_specs.html FileMaker Pro: http://www.filemaker.com/products/fmp/tech_specs.html Future plans Within a pilot project a secure Internet service will be connected to the existing system allowing patients to register their treatment themselves from home and facilitate the daily work of the nurse who will have less paper work and will be able to evaluate patients’ demands and requirements as well as increase their communication with the hemophilia center.
